Role Purpose

To assist the Offshore Manager in the successful execution of contract as per client requirements and project scope.

To maximise operational performance to ensure completion of the offshore activities by the scheduled completion dates and to ensure that requirements of the contracts are met

Key Areas of Responsibility

• To work in accordance with defined HSEQS Management Systems and be aware of H&S responsibilities to yourself and to others, and to carry out those responsibilities as identified in procedure Corp/H&S/MAN/1.0, HS&E Management Guidance and Corp/QA/MAN/001 Quality Manual.
• Attendance and input into any kick off meetings
• To ensure that the project is completed in a safe and timely manner
• Deputise for the Offshore Manager during the assigned shift
• Conduct the assigned offshore operations, in strict accordance with equipment operational procedures, project specific procedures and client written variation instructions
• Ensure that the Company’s “No Alcohol” Policy is strictly adhered to by all personnel under your control, especially prior to and during all operational and maintenance activities.
• Conduct safety briefings, tool box talks etc, for all assigned personnel, client and Sub Contractor personnel, ensure all necessary training is carried out and recorded in the Training Logs.
• Ensure effective planning for and handling of emergency situations.
• Ensure that assigned personnel are familiar with the operation and use of the vessels / client equipment as required.
• Ensure that all areas under client control are maintained in a good condition with emphasise on cleanliness and good order.
• Be aware of and ensure that all practical measures are taken by the vessel, its equipment spread and by client personnel to prevent pollution and damage to the environment.
• Supervision of Deck crew during mobilisation and operations
• Completion and submission of daily reports to the Offshore Manager and/ or Project Manager
• Liaison with the Dynamic Positioning team for vessel movement
Key Measures

• To complete projects safely, time and within budget within agreed parameters
• Handover completed from mobilisation to Offshore Manager within 24 hours of vessel departure
• To meet milestone payments
• Completion of offshore appraisals
• Completion of shift/ day reports to Offshore Manager and/ or Project Manager
Key Tasks

• To assist with deck layouts and installation of equipment
• Join the vessel with the Offshore Manager during the mobilisation
• Involved in checking the equipment on board
• Ensuring everything is dealt with safely
• Take over the writing of the daily report for the daily report during their shift
• Log day to day activities when offshore
• Instruct DP team where to move the vessel
• Execution of the vessel
• In control of all activities on the back deck
• Responsible that the job is executed in a safe and timely manner
• Ability for safety
• Link with the vessel DP operators (controls ship movements)
• Controls equipment going in/ coming out the water
• In touch with equipment superintendents
• Offshore Managers representative
• Liaising with key stake holders, e.g. clients
• Feeding back information back to OM for decision making
• Ensure that the Company’s “No Alcohol” Policy is strictly adhered to by all personnel under your control, especially prior to and during all operational and maintenance activities.
• Make every reasonable effort to maintain good working relationships with all personnel on board, act in the very best interest of the Company at all times, and encourage and motivate those working around you to conduct themselves likewise.
• Consistently uphold and maintain standards of acceptable conduct and work performance of all employees.
• Participate in disciplinary hearings where necessary and seek to resolve grievances.
• Regularly provide written assessment on personnel performance and conduct, and initiate/facilitate ongoing training and development.
• Assist the Auditor when audits of the Company are carried out.
• Contribute on any recommendations / improvements to the Company Quality and or Safety Systems.
• Carry out all other duties as could reasonably be requested by the Company.
• Recommend in good time, spares and consumable items, in order that the risk of any downtime is minimised. Ensure updated records of stock levels are maintained within AMOS.

Qualifications/Demonstrable experience

• Substantial experience in Offshore Management
• Master Mariner and/ or formal engineering qualification HND (desirable)
• Knowledge of Offshore Construction, oil and gas production, subsea construction, ROV

Manager of Offshore Services (Corporate Report)
Offshore Manager (or Project Manager in the absence of Offshore Manager) (Operational Report)
