1. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Preferred Qualifications:

o Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent in technical Engineering subject

o Preferred to have a Bachelor’s and Masters Degrees. In Engineering Technology or other Engineering related subjects

o Advantage if A Chartered Engineer with extensive management and project management experience.
Preferred Experience:

o Minimum 5 years experience in a senior role involved in installation of Cables. Will have delivered on a number of industry related projects across a range of sectors and customers.

o Thorough understanding of Operations Management and Offshore cable installation activities in shallow , mid and deepwater in the offshore Energy environment.

o Practical experience of Ships and Subsea mechanical & electrical systems.

o Practical experience in providing Navigation Survey systems.

o A proved track record of assessing marine cable route surveys for submarine cable projects for burial and installation.

o An effective communicator with knowledge of the cable industry and a successful track record in delivering and supporting offshore projects.

o Experienced in offshore and subsea designs and practises with successful adherence to health, safety & environmental targets in a highly regulated industry.

o Proven man-management experience of successfully managing multi disciplined teams in a technical offshore engineering environment in Cable Lay/Umbilical Lay/Subsea construction experience

2(c) SPECIFIC TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

To be the companies leading technical expert of Installation disciplines associated with installing wind farm inter-array, export and interconnector cables in the offshore marine environment, in shallow, Mid and deep water environments.

Ensure that the Offshore technical solution implementation is best in class and effective in respect to cost, quality and Safety.

Overall Responsible to ensure that the right skill sets are in place to ensure all offshore projects are resources effectively with the competent and experienced personnel to accomplish their successful completion.

Understands the offshore operations of the project technical solution in respect to all aspects of installation and to be accountable for the success of offshore installation projects

Critically evaluates technical solution in the Pre-project planning phase to ensure that we are able to deliver project effectively.

Fully ensure that the business is adequately resourced with the right information, procedures and systems for each and every project or prospect.

Full understanding of all offshore operational activities such as Cable Engineering, Survey/Navigation , Route Engineering, Subsea Services and their associated Procedures are aligned to accepted industry working practices.



3. KEY DUTIES

To support new business sales and bids in the pre-qualification stage of proposals utilising input from experienced offshore resources within the business.

Ensure that appropriate offshore resources are indentified and involved in pre-project planning in support of Project Managers to support successful delivery of projects in accordance with SAC approvals.

Ensure both Energy Projects are supported throughout their life cycle from inception through to delivery and documenting of lessons learnt.

To ensure that the facilities under your control are managed safely and in accordance with legislation and best industry practice.

Responsible for all Cable Engineering support to the Fleet, Office Departments and subsidiary Companies.

Responsible for all Subsea systems support provided to the the Fleet, Office Departments.

Responsible for all Charting & Route engineering support to the Fleet, Office Departments

Responsible for all Survey Navigation support to the Fleet, Office Departments

Responsible for the control, management and support of operational software systems in the Fleet and subsidiary Companies. This includes Navslack, CLP, CLARITY, and CLARA.

Be prepared to conduct Operational presentations to customers and industry seminars.

Be responsible for designated budgets, ensuring control within approved limits.

Meet the requirements of Company policy, procedures, national and international legislation.

Manage time, resources and priorities to ensure that implementation is aligned with
business plan.

Responsible for ensuring that all project site services are established , maintained and resourced to provide offshore project team with support they expect.

Responsible for reviewing and enhancing Cable Working Practices.


4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

To ensure that Proposals team and Project team are supported with competent staff throughout lifecycle of project.

Provide business with a generic library of cable working installation procedures for inter-array, interconnect, export, post installation/repair burial for wind farm cable installation projects

Deliver Customer satisfaction by exceeding expectations .

To ensure that Installation route is assessed and that any areas of risk are clearly identified to project team.

To ensure that Post Project reporting is to a high Standard expected in the industry.

To provide appropriate support to proposals team to ensure that adequate conceptual solution provision is in place to allow business to successfully deliver project.

To provide appropriate support to project team to ensure that adequate technical support is in place to successfully deliver project.

Ensure Offshore Staff via the OIm’s are competent, developed and motivated to deliver and close out on time, to specification and quality in line with the project execution plan.

Ensure Offshore staff comply with contractual requirements, CDM regulations and Company policies and procedures, with particular emphasis on Risk, Quality, Health Safety and the Environment

Ensure that the right skill sets are in place to ensure all Future projects are resources effectively by rigorously monitoring supply and demand of future project demands
