My Client is an International EPC company which undertakes major projects within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical sectors globally. They currently have an opportunity for a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer to join their organisation.
The position is a 9 Month Contract.
Responsibilities will include:
• To lead the team of engineers for quality , timely execution of assigned duties.
• To provide specialist discipline engineering expertise to all project design phases.
• To assume focal point responsibility for the integrity and fitness for purpose of all specified discipline equipment and systems.
• To conduct system effectiveness studies for new projects.
• To support design/drawing office personnel with Specialist Engineering input.
• To ensure that equipment vendors provide timely and high quality product to front-end and detailed design packages.
• To ensure design packages meet the required safety, environmental and ergonomic standards.
• To ensure design packages take account of technical progress within the industry.
• On request, monitor construction, testing, and commissioning work executed by the construction contractors for compliance with the project specification.
• Manage and control all interfaces if the related discipline with other discipline and design product suppliers.
• Preparation of requisitions and technical evaluation of subsequent bids for discipline material and equipment purchases.
• Ensure designs are executed in line with International/Client specifications, standards and procedures as applicable.
• To actively train and encourage the development of Omani staff to fulfil draftsman, designer, senior designer and engineering roles.
• To provide feed back to the Company on improvement to the Company’s design standards
Skills Required
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 15 years upstream Oil & Gas, Refineries and Petrochemical experience out of which minimum 5 years in Lead capacity for FEED, EPC projects in Engineering consulting organization.
Experience in design, selection, preparation of specification/requisitions, Vendor evaluation and Vendor document review of All types of Pumps, Process gas Compressors, Blowers / fans, Drives and Packages etc.
